With CAA's Forgive and Forget plan, we help you protect the good driving record you’ve earned over the years. If you are involved in your first at-fault accident, there will be no change to your driving record we will keep your CAA Auto Insurance1 premium from going up.
How does it work?
We believe that long-time safe drivers should be rewarded. If you are involved in your first at-fault accident, CAA will help protect your good driving record.
If you have never been in an accident, check with your current insurer to see what their policies are on driving record protection. If they do not offer it, then it may be time to consider switching to one that does. You may save thousands of dollars should you ever find yourself with an at-fault accident on your driving record.
Is there an additional cost for this coverage?
Yes. The endorsement cost is $85.00 per year. It is offered if all qualifications for obtaining the endorsement are met.
If you have been insured with CAA Insurance for 10 or more continuous years and at-fault claim free, this protection will be provided FREE on renewal.

What happens after my first at-fault accident?
After your first at-fault accident with Forgive and Forget, your driving record is protected. Otherwise, your driving record may be impacted.
With CAA Insurance Forgive and Forget protection, your driving record will remain the same as it did before the at-fault accident.

I have had an at-fault accident while protected under the Forgive and Forget plan, can I still purchase the endorsement on my next renewal?
No. The Forgive and Forget endorsement cannot be added to your policy until you are six years accident free again.
What if I have a second at-fault accident within six years?
On the second chargeable accident within a six-year period, your driving record will be reduced to a driving record “3”.
Some insurance companies may reduce your driving record to a “0” on the second at-fault loss or not offer you a renewal. Check with your current insurer.

Do I qualify?
You’re eligible for Forgive and Forget coverage if:
- You’ve been continuously licensed for the past six years or more and your vehicle carries mandatory road coverage (liability and accident benefits). To be eligible the principal driver must have a rating of 6 or greater in the common star rating system.
- You haven’t had an at-fault accident in the past six years.
- You haven’t been convicted of any major or serious conviction or more than one minor conviction within the past three years.
